The Court Agreed with Fr. Kelly’s attorney Blake Kremer’s arguments and released Him
Jesuit Priest Steve Kelly, imprisoned for more than three years for his activism to bring attention to the threat of nuclear weapons, was released on April 13, 2021. After months of the briefing, court arguments via zoom, and behind-the-scenes wrangling with different agencies, the court agreed with Fr. Kelly’s attorney Blake Kremer’s arguments and released Fr. Kelly. This was one of the first, if not the first, in-person hearing in this Federal Court in months following the pandemic lockdown.
